Raja Ampat is the anchor of the schedule, split between an 8-night northern run to Wayag and an 11-night full-park itinerary, both out of Sorong. The longer trip is the point of the boat: eleven nights and roughly 35 dives reaches the outer edges of the park that shorter charters never get to. Expect biodiversity, manta drifts and heavy fish life rather than a highlights loop.
Komodo sits in the mid-year window when the boat is west, and is the itinerary most likely to be sold as a private charter rather than a scheduled expedition. Strong currents, manta cleaning stations and the ranger treks, with the same small-group dive operation applied to a busier park.
The Spice Islands crossing runs 11 nights from Sorong toward Ambon, around 35 dives. Seamounts, pelagics and the historic Banda islands themselves. These are long open-water passages, which is exactly what the twin-engine, high-capacity-watermaker setup exists for.
Nabire to Manokwari, 11 nights, built around the whale sharks that gather at the fishing bagans. Calm, shallow diving compared with Raja Ampat, and a region few boats schedule at all.
Triton Bay runs out of Kaimana and is the most remote water on the schedule. Soft coral cover is the reason to come, visibility is lower than Raja Ampat, and whale sharks gather around the fishing bagans. It suits divers who have already done the headline parks and want somewhere with almost no other boats on it. Two tenders and dual compressors count for more here than anywhere else, because support is a long way off.
Suits: divers who want volume and remoteness rather than a short luxury loop. Two guides for ten guests, a 1:5 ratio, dual compressors, nitrox and two tenders means dive logistics never bottleneck. Underwater photographers are well served, with a dedicated camera prep station, separate camera rinse tanks and multiple charging points.
Also works for: mixed groups. Non-divers get a tender that follows the dive groups, so snorkelling, kayaking and island visits run in parallel rather than waiting on deck.
Less suited to: anyone wanting a suite. There is no master cabin here, all five are the same class below deck, and the boat is fitted for expedition comfort rather than luxury.
Calico Jack is a 30-metre Indonesian phinisi built for small-group expedition diving. The vessel carries a maximum of 10 guests in five ensuite, air-conditioned cabins and operates with a crew of 10. Its dive setup includes two compressors, Nitrox, two dive tenders, camera rinse facilities and dive groups capped at five guests per guide.
The official cabin inventory is two fixed Double Cabins, two Convertible Double/Twin Cabins and one fixed Twin Cabin. All are below deck and include private bathrooms with hot showers, air conditioning, fans, charging sockets, storage and daily housekeeping.
Scheduled expeditions explore Raja Ampat, Triton Bay, Cenderawasih Bay and the Banda Sea. The shortest currently published expedition is the eight-night Raja Ampat North itinerary from Sorong, starting at $3,100 per person. Eleven-night routes start from $4,365 to $5,300 depending on the itinerary.
Calico Jack is also available for private charter from $4,850 per night, but the operator does not currently publish a minimum charter duration. For that reason, this listing does not convert the nightly rate into an invented whole-trip charter total.
Onboard spaces include an indoor lounge, open-air dining, sun deck, observation deck and purpose-built dive deck. Starlink internet, kayaks and paddleboards support both divers and non-divers.
Two fixed lower-deck Double Cabins for two guests each, with ensuite hot shower, air conditioning, fan, charging sockets, storage and daily housekeeping.
Two lower-deck cabins that convert between a double and twin setup, for two guests each, with ensuite hot shower, air conditioning, fan, charging sockets and storage.
One fixed lower-deck Twin Cabin for two guests, with ensuite hot shower, air conditioning, fan, charging sockets, storage and daily housekeeping.
Scheduled expeditions include airport transfers on embarkation and disembarkation days, full-board accommodation, meals and snacks, tea, coffee and soft drinks, guided diving and briefings, kayaks, paddleboards, snorkeling gear, island excursions, beach BBQs and daily housekeeping. National-park fees, flights, alcohol, espresso, Nitrox, rental dive equipment, courses, insurance and gratuities are separate. Private charter is advertised from $4,850 per night; no minimum duration is published.
