Wellenreng
She leaves Labuan Bajo at about 19:00, so the first night is spent under way rather than at anchor

The Komodo section falls on day two of the crossing and is compressed into a single long day: the sunrise trek on Padar, the ranger-guided walk on Komodo, snorkelling at Pink Beach and a stop at Manta Point. Day three adds Savana Beach and Coral Beach. Because the boat is transiting rather than looping, there is no second pass at the park — if the weather closes a site, it is not revisited.
Lombok is the western terminus. Eastbound and westbound departures both run over four days and three nights, with the Labuan Bajo departure leaving on Sunday evening. Transfers at the Lombok end are not included in the fare — the published exclusions name drop-off at both Lombok and Labuan Bajo — so budget for that separately.
Day four crosses Sumbawa waters. The published stops are Saleh Bay for whale sharks around the bagan fishing platforms, Moyo Island with the Mata Jitu waterfall, and on some versions of the route Satonda and Lamere village. These are the stops that justify the fourth day; sightings at Saleh Bay are not guaranteed.
Suits: solo travellers and pairs crossing between Flores and Lombok who want a berth rather than a boat, and who are comfortable with shared bathrooms.
Also works for: a family of four, who can take the balcony cabin outright at the four-person minimum, and anyone who prefers to sail the first night rather than lose an evening at anchor.
Less suited to: anyone who needs an ensuite bathroom, a published technical specification, or a whole-boat charter — none of the three exists for this vessel. Also less suited to divers: there is no dive equipment on board.
Wellenreng is a 25 m traditional wooden phinisi for private journeys in Komodo, Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea, and beyond. It has three air-conditioned guest cabins for up to six guests, with a maximum capacity of nine including children. The vessel offers en-suite bathrooms with hot showers, Nitrox, diving support, kayaks, a stand-up paddleboard, and shaded outdoor dining.
The Wellenreng was built in Tanah Beru, South Sulawesi. Construction began in 2008 and the vessel began its first voyage in 2011. The owner publishes private, tailor-made itineraries rather than a fixed shared-trip schedule.
One upper-deck room with a double bed and two singles for up to four guests, and the only room on board with its own balcony. It carries a four-person minimum booking at IDR 9,500,000 per person, so it is priced as a family unit rather than by the berth. No photograph of this room is published.
Three main-deck rooms, each with a double bed and one single for up to three guests, at IDR 8,500,000 per person with a two-person minimum. Private in the sense that the room is yours — the bathrooms on board are shared.
One main-deck room with two double beds and two singles, sleeping six. At IDR 6,750,000 per person it can be booked by a single traveller, so expect to share with others on an open departure.
Walenreng is sold per berth only. No whole-boat charter rate is published, so the charter price field is left empty. Fares are the 2026–2027 4D3N per-person rates converted at IDR 16,800 to the US dollar; the starting price is the lower-deck share berth at IDR 5,750,000. A second agent selling the same boat publishes fares about IDR 1,000,000 lower per person, so it is worth checking more than one seller before booking.
Included: full-board accommodation, three meals a day, drinks, snorkelling equipment, guided shore activities and shared fishing gear. Excluded: Komodo National Park entrance at IDR 500,000 for foreign visitors and IDR 350,000 for Indonesian nationals, ranger and trekking fees, flights, hotels, travel insurance, alcoholic drinks, crew tips, personal expenses and transfers at Labuan Bajo and Lombok.

Published 2026–2027 fares for the 4D3N crossing are IDR 9,500,000 per person in the Family Cabin with balcony (minimum four people), IDR 8,500,000 in a Private Cabin (minimum two), IDR 6,750,000 in the main-deck share cabin and IDR 5,750,000 in the lower-deck share room. The last two are bookable from one person.
No. No source publishes ensuite bathrooms on this boat, and the only bathroom photograph available shows a shared facility. Treat all six rooms as sharing until the operator confirms otherwise in writing.
No headline capacity is published. Adding up the cabin table gives thirty-one berths: four in the family cabin, nine across the three private cabins, six in the main-deck share cabin and twelve in the lower-deck share room. That arithmetic is what this listing uses — it is not an operator-stated figure.
Pick-up in Labuan Bajo runs from about 17:00 on day one and the boat sails around 19:00, so the first night is spent under way. Day four ends with check-out in Lombok between 07:00 and 08:00. Book your onward flight accordingly.
Day two is the Komodo day: the Padar sunrise trek, the ranger walk on Komodo, Pink Beach snorkelling and Manta Point. Day three covers Savana Beach and Coral Beach. Day four crosses Sumbawa waters for the whale sharks in Saleh Bay, Moyo Island and the Mata Jitu waterfall before running for Lombok. Satonda and Lamere village appear on some published versions of the route.
Almost all of the technical specification: length, beam, draft, year built, engine, cruising speed, generators, watermaker, navigation and safety equipment, life rafts, crew number and deck plan. Whole-boat charter is not sold, and the internet on board is described only as “free Wi-Fi” without saying whether that is a local 4G router or satellite. These fields are left blank here rather than filled with plausible-looking guesses.
Full-board accommodation on board, breakfast, lunch and dinner, drinks including free-flow water, coffee and tea, snorkelling equipment, the guided shore activities on the itinerary and shared fishing equipment. Excluded: flights and hotels, travel insurance, alcoholic drinks, personal expenses, crew tips, transfers at either end and the Komodo National Park entrance fee, currently IDR 500,000 for foreign visitors and IDR 350,000 for Indonesian nationals.
Not as a published product. She is sold only as a shared open trip by the berth, and no whole-boat charter rate appears in any source used here. A group of four can take the family cabin outright, and a group of about thirty could in practice fill the manifest, but that would need to be negotiated rather than booked from a rate card.
